Elle Caerbert is a figurative oil painter based in Fort Worth, Texas. Her work explores memory, identity, and the quiet space between reality and imagination. Through portraiture and intimate scenes rooted in travel, everyday rituals, and human connection, she creates paintings that feel both intimate and slightly out of reach, like fragments of dreams recalled long after waking.

Working with expressive brushwork, layered color, and an emphasis on atmosphere, Caerbert is less interested in documenting a place than in preserving the feeling it leaves behind. Her paintings invite viewers into quiet, cinematic spaces where memory becomes fluid, asking them to question whether what they are seeing belongs to lived experience, a dream, or something in between.

Her recent work was profoundly shaped by time spent painting in France, where an immersive period of observation transformed her relationship with light, color, and the emotional language of painting. That experience marked a turning point in her practice, leading toward increasingly poetic narratives that blur the boundaries between reality and recollection.

Caerbert’s work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout Texas and has been featured in Fort Worth Lifestyle, Dallas Observer, Fort Worth Weekly, and CBS News. She is currently represented by Gallery at Bowie House in Fort Worth.

Ultimately, her paintings are an invitation to slow down, to linger in moments that resist explanation, and to discover pieces of one’s own memory within them.
