This plein air study was painted one afternoon in the backyard of the house where I stayed during my time in the French countryside. I spent hours outside watching the light slowly shift across the small wood shed, noticing how the colors changed moment by moment. From cool blue shadows moving across warm stone and fading greenery.

During my time there, I began seeing light differently in everyday places. Ordinary corners of the property started to feel cinematic to me. This piece became less about the structure itself and more about capturing the quiet atmosphere of that afternoon before the light disappeared.
