These works were created during my week long residency in Marfa Texas.

They are raw immediate studies painted alla prima on unstretched canvas. Imperfect, instinctive, and deeply tied to the colors, movement, and moments that stood out to me in the desert. Rather than polished pieces, they are fragments of observation and moments I wanted to hold onto before they passed.

I recommend framing them in shadow boxes or floating frames to bring a piece of West Texas into your home.
